MS Society commission

I was asked by Momentum to do an editorial cover shoot of a young couple that got engaged while on a fundraising walk on the Golden Gate Bridge.  The idea was an environmental portrait of them in front of the Bridge – problem was, it was December in San Francisco and we were having one of the wettest months on record.  And, the couple was going to get married on New Year’s Eve, so we couldn’t wait.

So, we picked the day that had the most promise of decent weather, and…
it rained.

We caught a few moments before the heavy stuff came down and got them out of the car for a quick shot, then headed closer to the bridge for more – alas, major rain.  The couple were very good sports and allowed me to keep shooting them even in the downpour.  The magazine cover is below – the MS Society wanted the orange shirts because that’s what they wore during the walk.  Some outtakes too –  I like the last one – I’d never shot inside Fort Point underneath the San Francisco side of the Golden Gate Bridge – such an awesome viewpoint.  Not bad for available light at the end of the day, during a rain shower.
